Volunteers

The Institute for International Law and Politics depends on the generous contributions of time and skills from members of the Georgetown University and Washington D.C. communities to support its mission. Like most non-profit organizations, the Institute uses volunteer work to bridge the gap between its resources and its objective needs. In exchange for their assistance, volunteers are invited to participate in all of the Institute's many sponsored events. They also gain valuable insight into the role and importance of international law and politics. When possible, volunteers are matched with projects linked to their personal interests.

Volunteers may contribute to the following specialized areas:

  • Clerical -- provides assistance with database management, filing, faxing, and other office work to ensure organizational efficiency.

  • Special Events -- provides assistance with advertising, setting up, and hosting many on-site events to ensure successful turn-outs and positive public relations.

  • Internet Research -- provides assistance with online research to the Institute's faculty and staff engaged in international law and politics research projects.

  • Other -- provides assistance based on training, expertise, and/or interests.

Volunteers typically donate between 5 to 15 hours per month. Those who are interested in a more involved commitment of their time may consider applying for the position of Research Assistant or Associate.

If you would like to volunteer your time at the Institute, please contact Anthony Clark Arend or Christopher C. Joyner to express your interest.
